Catalog: M2M_CATALOG Location: Earth Event Time: 2022-11-18T15:54Z ( DSCOVR: PLASMAG ) Quality of ICME Signature: -1 (unspecified) Note: Sudden magnetic field amplification to over 10 nT, accompanied by field component rotation, a bout of significant negative Bz (exceeding -9 nT) and an increase in ion density. Details of the ICME signature (courtesy of Tarik Mohammad, LASSOS team: ICME signature around 2022-11-18T15:00Z where both By and Bz change signs. Possible interaction with the CME arriving on 2022-11-17. The CME exhibits compression (negative expansion), see the increasing speed. This might explain the peaks and compression observed in proton density. A possible end of this ICME can be around 2022-11-19T12:24Z, after that the field becomes turbulent. The start of this CME was initially placed at 2022-11-18T16:29 (this is the time in the IPS notification) but moved to earlier after feedback from LASSOS.
